About The Opportunity: 
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our existing Finance Team. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, your overall responsibility will be to provide financial, analytical and business insight and challenge to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring sound decision making and profitable growth.

  • Provide commercial insight and analytical support for projects, process changes and investment appraisals
  • Provide market insight and updates on potential opportunities and impact on PHOENIX activities
  • Provide robust challenge to the Management Team on current business performance along with insight into root cause of issues and support business in undertaking corrective action.
  • Provide insight into emerging revenue, margin and cost based trends for agreed areas of the business and quantify associated impact on P&L and cash flow.
  • Utilise and develop key management information and systems to evaluate current business performance to drive improved profitability and support development of business strategy
  • Complete budget and forecasts in partnership with your key stakeholders
  • Analysis of investment opportunities, supporting throughout acquisition process and transition into business as usual

Who We Want:
We are looking for an inquisitive, astute and commercially focused Finance Business Partner who can demonstrate our company’s values and behaviours while driving business performance, customer and quality excellence and the engagement of our colleagues. 

You will have at least 5 years post qualification experience of financial analysis and decision support - gained through commercial roles in a variety of industry sectors, with a proven history of success in proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change at all levels of an organisation. Tenacious and energetic in your approach, you will be confident in producing high quality work, in a high pressure environment, to tight deadlines. 

Core Competencies and Experience:

  • Strong business knowledge and commercial acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a confident, enthusiastic approach and a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills, incorporating written, verbal, presentation and reporting at all levels
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Relationship building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience of performing root cause analysis, developing and implementing process improvements and robust controls.
  • Experience of building sound business cases to support business objectives
  • Able to prioritise complex projects and self-motivate, whilst working to strict deadlines and targets.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with post qualification experience.
