About The Opportunity: We are placing data and analytics at the heart of our business in a forward-thinking environment. As such, we are building a leading-class analytics capability and have an opportunity within our Business Intelligence team for a Data Engineer.

Reporting to the DataOps Manager, you will be a vital member of a BI Centre of Excellence, tasked with creating and maintaining the data foundations for the entire business.

An expert in data handling, in all its forms using many methods and tools (esp. T-SQL) you will develop solutions to move data through the supply pipeline, from source (ingestion) through to supply.

Being an expert data coder, you will write scripts, routines, jobs, automated processes and workflows to optimise the flow of data across the organisation, and ensure that our data stores are updated quickly and accurately, and all our outputs are delivered perfectly, on-time, every time.

You will be an expert in the coding, ingestion, transformation, storage and supply of high quality data, and providing it accurately and on time to business consumers and BI developers.

Our successful candidate would ideally be based in the North West , there will be flexibility between working from home and the office.

Core competencies / experience:

  • T-SQL / MS SQL Server / SSIS / SSRS
  • ETL/ELT techniques
  • Data warehousing, normalisation, cleansing, integration, preparation and analysis.
  • MS Excel

Other technical skills / experience:

  • Python
  • Power Shell
  • VBA
  • DataOps methodology and principles
  • MS Access
  • Power BI
