About The Opportunity:

This is a really exciting opportunity. We are now looking to recruit an OTC Buyer, reporting to OTC Commercial Manager. You will be responsible for taking the lead for particular categories and how that links to our retail strategy for the future.

This will provide you with the opportunity to make a real difference – you’ve got the chance to really develop our brands and offerings.

Who We Want: We are looking for someone who can:

  • Contribute to building the OTC Category Strategic Plans.
  • Deliver Sales, Margin & Funding growth for OTC to meet financial objectives, to include, promotional planning, pricing, range, merchandising and supplier strategies.
  • Develop solid supplier relations with manufacturers to generate incremental funding income across OTC whilst ensuring all business planning criteria are undertaken in full.
  • Deliver a strong and balanced promotional programme across both retail and wholesale channels, which meets and supports the overall OTC promotional strategy; ensuring sales and profit are maximised, administration is undertaken effectively and accurately, full promotional analysis is undertaken and informs future decisions & quarterly promotional plans by category are created and worked towards.
  • Ensure KPI’s are in line with budget and address any variances.
  • Assist Supply Chain team in the attainment of service and stock level KPI’s in depot and 3rd party suppliers via effective communication

This is a permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Although the role is office based and will require some attendance at an office, we will support you in working flexibly and support a hybrid model of working.

Experience

  • Experience of working within a category management / Buying role within a fast moving Wholesale /  retail sector
  • Experience in negotiation of supplier promotional income for value adding activities
  • Excellent supplier management skills with exposure to complex relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of retail / Wholesale buying and FMCG

Desirable

  • Understanding of regulatory aspects of Pharmacy
  • Wholesale experience
