About The Opportunity: We now have an exciting opportunity for a Infrastructure Engineer to join our existing IT department. Reporting into the IT Solution and Infrastructure Manager, your overall responsibility will be providing support to CFBUs and Business Support Functions through appropriate channels (e.g., telephone, email, portal) during operational service hours working to service levels agreed with the business. To manage, maintain and administer the companies systems, network and associated applications and services ensuring their availability, integrity and capacity whilst ensuring that these systems are adequately protected from deliberate or accidental loss.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Our ideal candidate will feel confident managing, maintaining and administering agreed IT services ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of agreed critical IT system at all times including, but is not limited to, ensuring that data is only accessible to authorised users and responsibility for backup management.

This role offers the opportunity to work in partnership with UK IT and Group IT, to assist in management and implementation of changes following defined processes for both existing and new services. This Includes but not limited to researching and implementing new technologies, patching and deployment as part of IT projects, ongoing activities, event management and change affecting group managed services.

You will be working in accordance with the defined ITIL processes provide incident management, request fulfilment and access management services either as a first point of contact or in response to tickets escalated by first and second line support. Ensuring tickets are actioned in accordance with agreed SLA targets, using escalation processes where necessary.

You will have the chance to work with the IT Service Delivery Team in support of the execution of disaster recovery testing whether initiated internally or by PHOENIX Group IT. PHOENIX Medical Supplies will be recognised as a provider of top-class business relevant solutions to the UK healthcare industry, operating with honesty and integrity to show leadership in partnership.

Candidates should feel confident with the defined ITIL processes responsible for providing availability management and capacity management services and activities for new and existing IT services, carrying out activities including proactive capacity and availability planning and monitoring with agreed service levels and feeding into IT Continual Service Improvement plans.

 

Essential Skills/Experience:

Key Experience

  • Extensive technical knowledge of infrastructure, networking, application management and configuration.
  • Experience of planning and delivering infrastructure changes to deadline
  • Experience of working in an IT environment with ITIL processes is desirable
  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment on telephone and face to face
  • Experience within IT service delivery

Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in incident trending and analysis
  • Expert level experience of some or all of:
    • Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems
    • Active Directory administration
    • MS Exchange administration
    • VMWare infrastructure and Technologies
    • Fortinet Firewalls
    • Cisco network devices
    • TCP/IP, LAN, and WAN troubleshooting
    • Backup & Storage systems
    • Microsoft RDS administration
    • Microsoft SQL configuration and administration

    • Hardware, peripherals, mobile devices
    • Anti-Virus & anti-spam system
    • Encryption Technologies including BitLocker configuration
    • Remote access systems

Qualifications

  • ITIL V3 at least to foundation level is desirable.
  • MCP certification or IT specific qualification are desirable
  • VCP certification is desirable
  • CCNA or equivalent certification is desirable
