Job Title: Data Quality Analyst

 

Location: Runcorn

 

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

 

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.15

 

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data across various systems and platforms. You will be responsible for testing data pipelines, validating data transformations, and verifying data accuracy throughout the data lifecycle. This role involves owning and running RUN and BAU tasks, making you an integral part of our data management and governance team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute data test plans and scripts to validate data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Perform thorough data validation, quality checks, and monitor data inputs/outputs for quality.
  • Identify, report, and track data-related issues, collaborating with data engineers for resolution.
  • Review and validate data transformations and models for consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Test data migrations, warehouse updates, and database integration projects; automate testing where applicable.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure data requirements are met in testing efforts.
  • Document testing results, defects, and create detailed reports for data quality metrics; perform regression testing and retesting after bug fixes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in data testing, data quality assurance, or a related role, with proficiency in SQL and familiarity with ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of scripting languages like Python for automating data tests.
  • Understanding of relational databases, data modelling, and big data technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, issue tracking systems, and collaboration platforms, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
